Matthew 28:16-20 What if Jesus and his disciples walked into our service today and sat down to worship with us like a secret shopper at a retail store? Are we focused on the things that Jesus would focus on? He told us what the most important thing is... making disciples... bringing people to know him. But first, we have to know him and let that love and knowledge overflow to the people we encounter every day. This is "the Jesus way."

Ephesians 2:11-22 The task Jesus gave us in Matthew 28 was to make disciples in all the world, but to do this we have to come together as the body of Christ. God created us to be with other people, and if we try to go alone we will ultimately fail.

Matthew 11:28-30 When we are asked to describe someone we often use physical descriptors, but how do you get to the heart? We can also describe Jesus in all of the ways that the Bible describes, but we see him describe his heart in today's scripture... gentle and lowly. We are called to have this same heart for others as we grow closer to him.

When we truly spend time with God's Word, we will find that it is different and glorious. It speaks to our situations, no matter what they are, as if God is speaking through those pages directly into our hearts. When we seek to follow the Jesus Way, we must take the Bible and DO what it tells us to do through these interactions.

Much like the "life-saving station" in the story, the church today can get too focused on itself and lose the real purpose God set out for it... seeking and saving the lost. If we are following the Jesus Way, we will be going out, doing ministry, and sharing the gospel message to everyone in our home, at work, in our neighborhood, in Haughton, in Bossier Parish, etc.
