Be Baptized By Immersion
Why should I be baptized?
-
To follow Jesus’ example (Mark 1:9)
-
Jesus commanded it (Matt. 28:19-20)
-
It demonstrates that I am really a believer (Acts 18:8; 1 John 2:3)
Baptism is an outward symbol of an inward commitment:

-
It illustrates Jesus’ burial and resurrection.
-
It illustrates my new life as a Christian.
Baptism does not make me a believer or save me, rather it demonstrates that I have already been saved by my faith in Jesus.
Why be baptized by immersion?

-
Jesus was baptized that way. (Matt. 3:16)
-
Every baptism in the Bible was by Immersion. (Acts 8:38-39)
-
The word “baptize” actually means “to dip under water".
-
Immersion best symbolizes a burial and resurrection. (2 Cor. 5:17; Romans 6:4)

Who should be baptized?
-
Every person who has believed in Jesus. (Acts 2:41; 8:12-13)
-
EWBC does not baptize infants—only those who have made a decision to believe in Jesus’ death as the payment
for their sin.
If baptized as a baby, we encourage you to be baptized by immersion as a believer.
