Vision and Mission

 

Our goal for every person walking through the doors of Eastwood Baptist Church is that they would “live life on mission.” This means every day and in every way looking for opportunities to "be Christ" for the people God places in your path.  A life on mission is constantly looking for those times to share the love of Christ with the world around them.  In order to get there, Eastwood has developed a strategy to "move you around the bases."

 

                                                   

The first step is to get connected to God through his Son, Jesus Christ.  This relationship is the foundation of every other relationship a person has.  After getting connected to Christ, Eastwood wants you to get connected to the church through membership.

 

The second step is to grow in this new faith.  We don't just want you to grow in knowledge, but in wisdom and understanding of God's Word.  This is accomplished through our small group ministry.  Our goal is have every person coming through the doors of Eastwood involved in some sort of small group study.

 

While in that small group, you'll have the opportunity to participate in various projects and functions.  Through this ministry, you'll begin to discover your spiritual gifts and talents.  Once you discover them, Eastwood's goal is to help you find the right place of service where you can use those gifts and talents.

 

The Great Commission (found in Matthew 28:18-20) tells us that we are to Go, make disciples.  We're to take what we do inside the walls of the church and be the church in the mission field God has placed each person.  It could be your subdivision, neighborhood, workplace, classroom, or wherever God has placed you.  How will you live life on mission today?
